About the school
The school has been in existence since 1984. It has always been based in the county of Hampshire.
Since its inception there have been several disciplines taught within the curriculum. Originally starting with Judo, being members of the British Judo council, then moving on to the British Judo Association. The club soon expanded to a membership of approximately 120 making it the biggest in Hampshire.
Along side the Judo section we then began to teach Taekwondo/Kickboxing which we were members of the British Taekwondo Control Board again with a large group with a varying age range.
It was in 1990 that we began to experience Ju-Jitsu. since this introduction we made a transition to become members of the World Ju-Jitsu Federation then the British Ju-Jitsu Association - Great Britain.
We began teaching Tenkai-Ryu Ju-Jitsu. This section is still in existence today. Instruction is by Sensei John Andrews who was a student of Mike's since he was 14 years old.
Mike left Ju-Jitsu teachings solely in John's care which is still flourishing today.
We began teaching Jeet Kune Do in 1996, however our exposure was originally in 1979 with Guro Dan Inosanto.
Jeet Kune Do/Kali Centers opened their new purpose built premises in February 2004.
This makes it the only fully equipped purpose built premises dedicated to the teachings and philosophies of Sijo Bruce Lee in Hampshire.
