| Mike Gray Owner/Principal |
Mike has been involved in the martial arts since 1966-starting with the art of ju-jitsu and was a member of the World Ju-Jitsu Federation under the direction of Professor Robert Clark and Professor Richard Morris. Mike trained in his local home town but spent many a time traveling to the main Honbu in Liverpool with his instructor to train with the Professors.
Over the many years Mike trained diligently and hard every free time he could find, he was rewarded for his dedication as he worked his way through the dan grade system culminating in the award of his 4 th Dan in 1988.
Since then Mike has fought on numerous occasions for the Great Britain Ju-Jitsu Squad. In 1993 Mike had the honour of representing his country in the World Ju-Jitsu Championships, winning the silver medal in the men's Heavyweight Division.
Whilst training in the martial arts Mike was fortunate to meet many people who were dedicated, honest, sincere (and darn right nice guy’s). From these meetings friendships were formed which are still as strong today as they were then.
As a result of these friendships Mike has been lucky enough to have been exposed to and train in such arts as-wado ryu karate, judo(b.j.a), judo(b.j.c), wing chun, pak mei kung fu, taekwondo (w.t.f), freestyle karate and fortunate to have been awarded Black Belt grade in all of them.
It was in the early nineties that Mike began to look and investigate the amalgamation of arts to enhance the efficiency of combat ranges. It was during this time that Mike met and trained with Guro Bob Breen at the Academy in Hoxton, London . This was like a breath of fresh air-(guro bob just blows you away), then the inevitable happened ….Mike was lucky enough to meet the man himself Guro Dan Inosanto-(nothing can be added to what has been said before about Guro Dan…..WHAT A GUY.
Mike's love affair with J.K.D began and still flourishes today. At present Mike is a Instructor under Sifu Rick Faye of the Minnesota Kali International and also under Guro Bob Breen of Jeet Kune Do /Kali International

Brett Gray Assistant Instructor |
Brett has been involved in the martial arts since 1984 - starting with Taekwondo with Southern Schools of Taekwondo. Recognising the need to work on other area's Brett began to look into Judo.
After many years training (even at his young age) Brett eventually earned his 1st Dan in Taekwondo and he was a member of the British Taekwondo Control Board. He went on to achieve 2nd Dan in Taekwondo whilst continuing with his various martial arts studies.
Brett also, however, continued his study of Judo achieving grades of 1st Dan on both the British Judo Association and British Judo Council.
He was at this time tending to experiment with the arts he had learnt by combining various techniques from his Taekwondo and Judo training.
Thus a move to Tenkai Ryu Ju-jitsu was inevitable.. this art had the amalgamation of Brett's previous training regime, but with a few added extras. Brett's involvement with Tenkai Ryu Ju-jitsu lasted for many a memorable year, with dedication and hard training he achieved Dan grade status culminating in the award of 2nd Dan.
It was when he reached the ripe old age of 16, along with his father, he began to look and investigate the amalgamation of arts to enhance the efficiency of combat ranges. It was then Brett went along with Mike and met/trained with Guro Bob Breen at the academy in Hoxton, London. During this time Brett was also privileged to meet the "man" himself, Guro Dan Inosanto, what can be said!
Brett became hooked on J.K.D from that day and his enthusiasm for the art is as great now as it was back then. At present Brett assists his father in the operations/instruction at the Jeet Kune Do/Kali Center.
Brett also has numerous British/European titles in various competitions, which are outlined in his martial arts CV. Should you require a full detailed copy please do not hesitate to contact us.
